Whether you're planning a birthday celebration, anniversary trip, romantic getaway, girls' weekend, or simply looking for a place to unplug, Stellara offers an experience that feels very different from a traditional hotel or vacation rental.
After spending several days exploring the property, hiking the trails, and staying in one of the treehouses, here's my thoughts on Stellara, what surprised me most, and who I think would enjoy it most.
What Makes This Place Different?
The first thing to understand about Stellara is that it isn't just a place to sleep or glamp. The entire property has been intentionally designed around slowing down, reconnecting with nature, and creating memorable experiences. While the astrology and astronomy theme is woven throughout the property, it never feels overwhelming or gimmicky.
Instead, the experience feels thoughtful and intentional.
Guests are encouraged to disconnect from the constant distractions of daily life and reconnect with the natural world around them. Telescopes, rooftop stargazing decks, astrology-inspired details, fire pits, hiking trails, wellness amenities, and intentional gathering spaces all work together to create an atmosphere that feels peaceful and immersive.
One of the most memorable aspects of the property is its dark-sky environment. If you've never stayed somewhere with minimal light pollution, prepare to see the night sky differently. The stars become part of the overall experience. It’s worth staying up late for!
The Accommodations
We stayed in Treehouse 8, and it exceeded expectations!
Getting there requires climbing quite a few stairs, which may not be ideal for everyone, but the reward is complete privacy and incredible mountain views. The elevated design makes you feel like you're truly immersed in the surrounding forest. We were warned before booking that there were lots of steps and inclines (but we love that kind of thing!).
Inside, the treehouse blends luxury and comfort with a subtle outdoor-adventure feel. The king bed faces beautiful views of the mountains, while the soaking tub creates the perfect place to unwind after a day of hiking, while listening to the fountains.
One feature we particularly enjoyed was the rooftop deck. Equipped with a hot tub, gas grill, seating area, and telescope, it became our favorite place to spend time, star gaze and catch up. Mornings started with tea overlooking the mountains, while evenings ended under a sky full of stars with smores over the fire pit.
The kitchenette was well-equipped for simple meals, making it easy to stay on property rather than leaving for restaurants. My recommendation is to stop for groceries before arriving so you can fully enjoy the experience without needing to make extra trips into town. We cooked on the grill and used ChatGPT to come up with the recipes and a grocery list to make it even easier.
For travelers considering accommodations, Stellara offers both treehouses and mirror homes. The treehouses provide a multi-level experience with rooftop amenities, while the mirror homes offer a more modern design and include private saunas. Having experienced both, I can confidently say each offers something unique.

Beyond The Treehouse
While the accommodations are impressive, the surrounding property is what elevates the overall experience. Throughout the resort, you'll find hiking trails, meditation spaces, a labyrinth, community gathering areas, and wellness-focused experiences designed to encourage relaxation and reflection.
One aspect I appreciated was how much thought had gone into the guest experience. From the welcome materials to the suggested activities and intentional moments built into the stay, everything felt designed to help guests slow down.
Rather than filling your itinerary with endless activities, Stellara encourages you to enjoy simple moments.

Let's Talk About The Hiking
A quick warning: the hiking trails are more challenging than they first appear! The inclines are steep, and you'll definitely get a workout.
My legs were sore for two days afterward. That said, the views are worth every step! For guests who enjoy movement and outdoor adventure, the trails add another layer to the experience and offer some of the best vantage points on the property.

Stellara delivers something many travel destinations promise but few actually provide: a genuine opportunity to slow down. The accommodations are beautiful, the setting is unforgettable, and the experience feels intentionally designed rather than overly commercialized.
What stood out most wasn't the hot tub, the treehouse, or even the views. It was how present we felt while we were there. And the girl that worked there was so nice and helpful at check in and even stayed later for us since there was alittle traffic and we were running late. The communication and customer service really is incredible.
For travelers looking for a memorable mountain getaway that combines nature, wellness, and a little bit of wonder, Stellara is absolutely worth considering.
