As the main focus of the wedding day, you want your skin and your makeup to look flawless all day long. So when you're getting ready to have your makeup done, even when you're reapplying makeup throughout the wedding day, here are 7 quick ways to keep your wedding day makeup looking fresh and clean throughout the entire day.

1. Exfoliate the Week of Your Wedding

If you want makeup to look fresh and smooth on your face, make sure your canvas (aka your face) is well exfoliated. Start doing this once or twice a week leading up to your wedding.

2. Use Moisturizer

Be sure to use moisturizer the day before your wedding and on the day of too, before you get your makeup done. Doing so will keep your face hydrated, and your makeup in place all day long.

3. Stick with Waterproof

Go for the waterproof mascara (there will, without a doubt, be tears) and long-lasting lip stains. That way, you won't have to worry about touching up your lips or eyes throughout the night.

4. Remember Less is More

You may have an urge to cake on a lot of make-up to look photo ready on the morning of the wedding. Instead, go easy and light on the makeup. You can always add more later in the day.

5. Blot the Oil Away

Avoid touching your face too much. If you feel your skin getting a little oily, use a blotting sheet to lightly remove any oily spots on your face.

6. Apply Finishing Powder

After you've applied your makeup, and it looks the way you want it to look, apply a finishing powder. A light dust of this will help keep your makeup in place.

7. Use a Good Primer

Apply this before putting makeup on. It will help your skin feel smoother and also take away the shine that may happen later on from oily skin.
