I was recently invited to be the keynote speaker at the Emerge Collective’s annual kick-off retreat. A special time when business leaders set their goals and intentions for the upcoming year. While chatting with the founder about possible topics, we found ourselves having a real, personal conversation about how this year would be different. Putting health first. When I started sharing my biohacking journey, she immediately said, “This is the perfect subject to open up our year with.”
This year, I decided to be raw and real. Sharing what struggle looks like for a perfectionist with ADHD who had a near-death experience from being a workaholic. I opened up about what recovery can look like and what I wish I had known earlier. I shared experiments I’ve tried, case studies I’ve learned from, and simple biohacking tips that can fast-track your productivity and health. Because here’s the truth:
👉 I thought I was doing the right things, only to learn I had been misled.
👉 I had to become my own advocate.
👉 If you want a better way to live, you have to wake up and ask the right questions.
But do you even know what questions to ask? Because I didn’t. I had to learn the hard way.
I am beyond grateful for everyone who attended the retreat and took action. Some even ordered treadmill desks right after my talk! To me, that is what being an influencer is really about. Helping people take small steps (sometimes literally!) toward a happier, healthier, and longer life.
Wait…What Exactly Is Biohacking?
If you’re new here, biohacking is all about making small, intentional changes to your daily habits to feel better, have more energy, and live longer. It’s paying attention to what your body needs: food, movement, rest, and even technology, to optimize your health. Think of it as giving your body little upgrades to help you be your best self!
💡 If you’re not tracking it, it doesn’t matter.
4 Simple Biohacking Tips to Get Started
Below are a few simple biohacking tips that I would love to come and share with your community, your conference, or your event:
1. Wear a Watch and Track Your Steps
🙋 Why? Movement is fuel for your body and brain. Tracking your steps shows you how much you're really moving.
✅ What to Do: Set a goal of 10,000 steps per day. Start small if needed, and build up gradually. (And when you hit day 30, let me know!)
2. Eat Foods That Actually Fuel You
🙋 Why? Food is medicine—it can energize you or drain you.
✅ What to Do: Stop falling for marketing gimmicks. Shop the outer edges of the grocery store, invest in organic and whole foods, and know where your food comes from.
3. Prioritize High-Quality Sleep
🙋 Why? Sleep helps you extend your life. We are not computers.
✅ What to Do: Commit to a consistent sleep schedule (yes, even when traveling across time zones like I do!) Plan ahead and make sleep non-negotiable.
4. Move Your Body Every Day
🙋 Why? Studies prove that movement increases happiness and productivity.
✅ What to Do: Make movement a natural part of your day. Whether it’s a walk in the sunshine, stretching, yoga, or dancing. Choose something you already enjoy and build from there. It doesn’t have to be complicated, just get moving!
