Tip 34: Carefully Plan Who Will Say the Toast
I was working with a traditional Southern family on a wedding. About two months before the wedding, the bride told me, in confidence, the real reason she was getting married: she was pregnant. She told me so that I would make sure she had cider in her flute instead of champagne at the reception. At the rehearsal dinner, the best man got up to make his speech, and spilled the beans about the pregnancy. He continued on with his speech and soon realized what he had done.
