I was so fortunate to travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas (the home of Wal-Mart!), to plan for an amazing family and a Broadway producer. It was a fabulous trip that will never be forgotten! With the Mississippi overflowing for the first time since 1937, all vendors from Nashville had to be rerouted hours and hours to get there “come hell or high water”, we were going to get there!
I planned her sister’s wedding less than a year before they got engaged in Paris. Although, I live in Nashville, the bride and groom live in New York, the mom in Denver and the dad in Florida, we all utilized technology for the planning process, something I am doing more and more these days (I love iChat!). We only met one time in person in AR to interview vendors and talk through their ideas.
I had the best time working with Trish, the owner of Interior Fabrics and Design, using custom fabrics to set the tone at Ozark Botanical Gardens. I brought Reveal Event Style, Nashvegas Allstars and Nashville Event Lighting along with me to execute the vision of this awesome couple. The lead singer of Nashvegas sang a song written by Kristen to her dad.
The setup was like nothing Fayetteville had ever seen before with white modern couches, black linens and a touch of pink; as if you were at a backyard garden party. The colorful hydrangeas and peonies popped against the damask fabric on the custom table cap linens. The food, provided by the family’s favorite restaurant growing up, Bordinos, was amazing! Even the New Yorkers were shocked on how much fun they could have in Arkansas! It was so awesome working for a family and their friends that trust me as a planner and know they can leave the details up to me. It allowed everyone to enjoy the experience from beginning to end!
